You can clear recent search history, recently viewed pages and internet “cookies” by following some of these steps below.

PLEASE be aware that this is not a 100% fool proof way to completely hide your tracks. It is a guide and should remove only obvious traces from your computer.

As well as following the instructions below you are also able in most up-to-date web browsers to use an “Incognito” mode in Google Chrome, or “InPrivate Browsing” in Internet Explorer. Safari and Firefox also have similar settings.

 

Google Chrome

  • On your computer, open Chrome.

  • At the top right, click the “3 dots” symbol

  • Click “More Tools” then “Clear browsing data”.

  • In the box that appears, at the top, choose a time period, such past hour or past day. To delete everything, select beginning of time.

  • Click “Clear browsing data”. Select the types of information you want to remove.

Android Phones

  • Open the Chrome app. 

  • Tap the  button then “Settings”.

  • Under the “Advanced” heading, tap “Privacy” then “Clear browsing data”.

  • At the top, tap the drop down arrow under “Clear data from the“.

  • Choose a time period, such as past hour or past day. To delete everything, select beginning of time.

  • Select the types of information you want to remove.

  • Tap Clear data.

 

iPhone / iPad

  • Open the Chrome app. 

  • Tap the button, then “Settings”.

  • Tap “Privacy” then “Clear browsing data”.

  • Select the types of information you want to remove.

  • Tap Clear Browsing Data.

 

 

Internet Explorer

  • Click the  icon at the top right of the internet explorer window.

  • Click “General” tab

  • Click the “Delete…” button

  • Tick boxes for “Temporary Internet Files”, “Cookies”, “History” and, or any other tick boxes you feel might be relevant.

  • Click “Delete

Firefox

  • Click the  icon at the top right of the Firefox window.

  • Click the options icon.

  • Click the “Privacy” heading down the left hand side.

  • Under the “History” heading, click “Clear your recent history”.

  • Select a time range to clear.

  • Click “Clear now”.
