EVA Women’s Aid is a woman-only organisation, independent of the criminal justice system, statutory agencies and other private companies, working with women and children who have been affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence at any time in their lives.

We work from a feminist and empowering framework that embraces inclusiveness, diversity and equality and is survivor centred.  We strive to eradicate domestic and sexual violence and oppression in all of its forms.

We are both a Women’s Aid and a rape support centre providing  a range of free, confidential and non-judgemental specialist services to victims of domestic abuse and sexual violence in Redcar & Cleveland.  Women accessing EVA services will always be allocated a female worker.

At EVA, we believe women need their own spaces to heal from male violence, and we fully support the protection of single sex spaces and services for female victims of male violence.  As such, all our female only groups, services and spaces strictly apply the single sex exemption under Schedule 3, part 7 of the Equality Act 2010, meaning they are open to females only.

Our services include counselling for adults, children and young people, supported housing, The Freedom Programme and our own follow-on Programmes, Legal Surgery, Schools Programmes, Independent Domestic Violence Advocate, Information Advice and Guidance.  We are the only organisation in the area providing a full ‘wraparound’ service to victims; from accommodation, to individual support, Programmes, Training and Counselling.

EVA Women’s Aid is proud to be a full member of Women’s Aid Federation of England (WAFE) and even prouder to hold their National Quality Standards, and to have been given no less than thirteen Commendations – the most that WAFE have ever awarded to a member organisation.  Further proof that EVA Women’s Aid are a quality organisation putting the needs of victims and survivors first.
